SmartResource

The goal of this three-year project (2004-2007) was to combine the emerging Semantic Web, Web Services, Peer-to-Peer and Agent technologies for the development of a global and smart maintenance management environment, and to provide Web-based support for the predictive maintenance of industrial devices by utilizing heterogeneous and interoperable Web resources, services and human experts.

The SmartResource project is primarily funded by Tekes and partially funded by businesses and the Jyväskylä Science Park. Launched in June 2004, its current main goal concerns the semantic adaptation of industrial resources to the Semantic Web environment. The executive group consists of six researchers and developers and two trainees lead by Prof. Vagan Terziyan.
