The central starting points for the project are: strengthening of the core know-how, strengthening of the strategic basic research, applying new technology in the research projects, deepening technology and market views, developing new innovative products and services, and supporting new business activities in the SME-sector.

The project is conducted at the Agora Center, department of the University of Jyväskylä, in cooperation with local business organizations and Jyväskylä Science Park. The project is financed over three years through the European Union and the National Technology Agency TEKES.

A primary objective of this project is to create new and to develop existing know-how in the area and to facilitate the transfer of this know-how to the operating companies. Another objective is to create new companies, and to improve the business conditions for all companies in the local area. One other foremost objective, promoting the basic research and know-how related to the above objectives, is to create the Human Information Technologies Center, an international center of excellence, with extensive synergetic know-how to meet the challenges posed.

There are four main interdisciplinary projects combining communication sciences, behavioral sciences, business administration and economics, and information technology in their viewpoints and approaches towards the development of innovations (main projects leaders in parenthases):
