Care & Wellbeing are mega-challenges in modern and quickly aging societies. Our research focus is on effective care provision and wellbeing that improves the quality of life. We do this by marrying the potential of emerging technologies with scientific findings and innovative service concepts. Our research process is interdisciplinary and we practice a multi-partner approach: we work across-disciplines, together with end-users and in collaboration with public and private service providers and other stakeholders.

A common problem in today’s organizations is the lack of proper analytic tools while aiming to efficient utilization of vast amounts of data and ReMaster will be answer for this need. With help of ReMaster organizations can analyse, evaluate and develop their processes and use relevant data for decision support. The aim of ReMaster-project is to investigate the most promising commercial and utilization paths of knowledge management service concept based on computational methods.

We have demonstrated that ICT-based simulations targeting the basic and special health care processes and structure can substantially enhance health care economics and quality of care. Our recommendations allowed the time needed to complete patient treatment — from arrival to discharge — to improve by 38 % in an emergency clinic of the Central Finland Health Care District. This was done while simultaneously improving patient and nursing staff satisfaction.
